Thousand Hours began in 2016
when Ashford Vineyard, a community church in Ashford, decided that we wanted to spend the month of October giving 1000 hours of time back into the community through little acts of kindness.
of A Kindness Revolution.
In 2017, we took A Kindness Revolution further and invited 6 Primary Schools in Ashford to join us in spreading kindness across our town, and our communities.
Since then our Thousand Hours Schools have flourished and we have met around 19,109 children across those 4 years. With the help from schools, as a whole community we have logged a whopping 82,292 hours since 2016.
We are BACK.
2020 Thousand Hours didn’t quite look like we planned it to. But, now more than ever, kindness is so needed.
And so in our 6th year of A Kindness Revolution in Ashford and beyond, we will be painting the town yellow. As well as encouraging you to be doing your own acts of kindness and logging your hours, you can come and see us in the town centre, at our Kindness Hubs each Saturday.
We’ll be there armed with inspiration for ways that you can get involved, and different activities to join in with. Keep an eye on our social media accounts to watch the story unfold, and find out more on our Get Involved page.
Log Your Hours

We love going into schools , teaching, inspiring and encouraging kindness. We find that the little humans in our community are often the kindest. Have a look at what we get up to in Schools during Thousand Hours.
