What’s On?

We have several organised events throughout the month, that you can get involved in as part of Thousand Hours.

But the list isn’t exhaustive! There are many other ways you can get involved, from completing our 31 Act of Kindness, to doing your own personal volunteering during the month. Whatever you get up to, don’t forget to Log Your Hours!

Pay it Forward is running in 3 coffee shops in Ashford town centre throughout October. Just pop to:

-The Chilli Bite,

-The Beehive,

-The Little Teapot

Where you can buy a coffee for yourself, and pay it forward by buying one for a stranger too.

We’ll be heading to several spots around Ashford for a BIG Litter Pick on Saturday 5th October. Click here for details of the locations, and sign up!

On Saturday 12th, we’ll be taking over the Bandstand in Ashford town centre for Kindness Saturday. Come on down and see us- there will be plenty of yellow on the highstreet, and lots of give-aways and kindness pampering for you! For more information click here.

[We will be taking photos and videos at this event. These images will be used by Thousand Hours to share news about this event, and to publicise future events. Images may be used in press releases, printed publicity and published on the Thousand Hours Website and Social Media pages. Any concerns about your photos being used, please do speak to one of our photographers on the day, or email karen@thousandhours.org.]

Every year as part of Thousand Hours, at Ashford Vineyard, we like to change around our “usual” Sunday Service, and do Church with a twist. Action Sunday is a chance to gather together (whether you usually do ‘church’ or not..) as we open The Warehouse and spend the morning doing Kindness in a really practical way! We have plenty of ways for you to help out; from cleaning, making kindness packs, or making thank you cards for our local services. Going out and about, or sticking inside. There will be lots going on with tasks for the whole family; no matter your age, skills or physical abilities, and we’d love you to join us! Absolutely everyone is so welcome! Sunday 13th October, 9.30-12!

For more details click here.

From 14th-21st October, we’re having a food collection week, where we will have big yellow boxes dotted around Ashford for you to put your dried food goods. All the food you donate will go to a local food bank to help people who need an extra push in a tough time! So why not pop an extra couple of cans into your shopping basket this week, and donate them at one of our food boxes?

You will be able to donate your food at:

-The Beehive, -The Glasshouse, -Made in Ashford, -The Warehouse, Ashford Vineyard.

[This also fits in with day 13 of 31 Acts of Kindness!]

Relationship over food is always just that much more special. Wouldn’t it be awesome if hundreds of house all over Ashford invited someone for dinner, on the same day?

Take this chance to invite that person, that you’ve been meaning to see for ages, over for dinner. It doesn’t have to be gourment, kindness comes in a humble slice of pizza too.

Saturday 26th October.

Don’t forget to Log Your Hours!
